Free Pattern Heartsnail

Hello everybody. I’ve written out a free English crochet pattern for my little heartsnail.

Pattern Heartsnail (American Crochet Terms)

Finished stuffie measures approx. 3,9 inches long.

Materials:
– Size C (3mm) crochet hook
– Yarn in beige and colours you love
– Embroidery floss in black
– Poly-fil stuffing
– Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:
Ch = Chain
SS = Slip Stitch
SC = Single Crochet
Dec = Single Crochet Decrease
Inc = Single Crochet Increase
Rd. = Round
rep = repeat

Note: I worked in continuous rounds (vs. joined rounds).

Snail Shell:
Work a heart (for free pattern click here) with any colour you like.

Body:
With beige.
Rd.1: Magic ring, make 6 SC in ring. (6 SC)
Rd.2+3: SC in each stitch around. (6 SC)
Rd.4: SC, Inc, SC, Inc, SC, Inc. (9 SC)
Rd.5: SC in each stitch around. (9 SC)
Rd.6: SC 2, Inc, SC 2, Inc, SC 2, Inc. (12 SC)
Rd.7-19: SC in each stitch around. (12 SC)
Rd.20: *SC 2, Dec*, rep 3 times. (9 SC)
Rd.21: SC in each stitch around. (9 SC)
Rd.22: *SC 1, Dec*, rep 3 times. (6 SC)
Fasten off and close gap. Leave long end for sewing to the heart (see photos 1 and 2).

Head:
With beige.
Rd.1: Magic ring, make 6 SC in ring. (6SC)
Rd.2: SC 2 in each SC around(12 SC)
Rd.3: *SC 1, Inc*, rep 6 times. (18 SC)
Rd.4: *SC 2, Inc*, rep 6 times. (24 SC)
Rd.5: *SC 3, Inc*, rep 6 times. (30 SC)
Rd.6: SC in each stitch around. (30 SC)
Rd.7: *SC 8, Dec*, rep 3 times. (27 SC)
Rd.8+9: SC in each stitch around. (27 SC)
Rd.10: *SC, Dec*, rep 9 times. (18 SC)
Rd.11: SC in each stitch around. (18 SC)
Rd.12: *SC, Dec*, rep 6 times. (12 SC)
Rd.13: SC in each stitch around. (12 SC)
Stuff with poly fil.
Rd.14: *Dec*, rep 6 times. (6 SC)
Rd.15: SC in each stitch around. (6 SC)
Push flat and work through both sides 3SC.
Fasten off and leave long end for sewing. Sew the head to the heart (see photos 3 and 4). Using black embroidery floss, embroider eyes and mouth onto the face.

Tentacle (x2):
With beige.
Rd.1: Magic ring, make 6 SC in ring. (6 SC)
Rd.2: SC in each stitch around. (6 SC)
Rd.3: SC, Dec, SC, Dec. (4 SC)
Rd.4+5: SC in each stitch around. (4 SC)
Fasten off and leave a long end for sewing to the head.

Your snail is now complete! 🙂

Do not fasten off and go on directly:

Rd.7: Put the two pieces next to each other and put your hook through the first part you have crocheted (photo 4). Crochet in each stitch. (24 SC) (photo 5)

Rd.10: *SC 2, Dec*, rep 6 times. (18 SC)
Rd.11+12: SC in each stitch around. (18 SC)

Rd.14+15: SC in each stitch around. (12 SC)

Pattern Lucky Charm (American Crochet Terms)

Finished stuffie measures approx. 5,5 inches tall.

Materials:
– Size D (3mm) crochet hook
– Yarn in purple and beige (50g = 125m)
– Embroidery floss in black
– Poly-fil stuffing
– Tapestry needle
– Ribbon, if you want 🙂

Abbreviations:
Ch = Chain
SS = Slip Stitch
SC = Single Crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
Dec = Single Crochet Decrease
Inc = Single Crochet Increase
Rd. = Round
R.= Row
rep = repeat

Special Stitch:
Great Puff Stitch = (Yo, insert hook in indicated st, yo, pull lp through st and make lp same height as previous sts in working row, pull only through 2 lps) for 5 times, yo, pull through all 6 lps on hook.

Rd.45: In back loops only: : *SC 4, Dec*, rep 6 times. (30 SC)

Finish stuffing with poly fil, but not too much. It should be flat.
Rd.48: *SC 1, Dec*, rep 6 times. (12 SC)
Rd.49: *Dec*, rep 6 times. (6 SC)
Fasten off and close gap.

Arm (x2):
With beige.
Rd.1: Magic ring, make 7 SC in ring. (7 SC)
Rd.2-4: SC in each stitch around. (7 SC)
Rd.5: Dec, SC 3, Dec. (5 SC)
Rd.6-12: SC in each stitch around. (5 SC)
Fasten off and leave long end for sewing. Do not stuff. Sew arm to body.

Leg (x2):
With beige.
Rd.1: Magic ring, make 5 SC in ring. (5 SC)
Rd.2: SC 2 in each SC around. (10 SC)
Rd.3: Crochet in each of the first three stitches a „Great Puff Stitch“ ( see above). Inc, SC, Inc, SC, Inc, SC, Inc. (14 stitches)
Rd.4: SC in each SC around. (14 SC)
Rd.5: *Dec*, rep 7 times. (7 SC)
Fasten off and leave long end for sewing. Do not stuff. Sew legs to body in front of the belly. Embroider a little cross to the belly for a belly button.

Ear (x2):
With beige.
Rd.1: Magic ring, make 3 SC in ring. (3 SC) Do not close the magic ring.
Fasten off and leave a long end for sewing to the head. Embroider a little nose with beige yarn.

Using black embroidery floss, embroider eyes onto the face.
